[On her first training session]
“(During the) season, we’ll have a good rhythm going,” Morgan said. “We’ll know each other a lot better. Come April 13, we’ll be ready.”

[On Christine Sinclair]
“We anticipate each other really well,” Morgan said. “You’ve seen her stats from Canada - they’re through the roof. Having her as a teammate and a leader on this team will help me and help improve my play. I think she will help some of the younger players, too.”

[On balancing national team commitments and club commitments]
“I think we’ll be able to focus a lot more on this team,” Morgan said. “With U.S. Soccer helping this team financially, I think they want this league to grow and they want the players to be here. I don’t think they’ll be pulling us out as much.”

[On how often she’ll be able to play]
“Whenever I’m here and available, I want to be on the field,” Morgan said. “But that’s not my decision, that’s the coach’s decision. But I would always like to play when I’m available.”

[Head coach Cindy Parlow Cone on Alex’s first day]
“I gave her the beep test today and gave her the option of not running it, because she just got in today,” Cone said. “Like the true professional she is, she’s like, ‘No, I want to run it with the girls.’ “

[On how often national team players will play]
“They’ll play,” Cone said. “As long as they’re healthy, they’ll play.”
