I had something else planned for this, but then the USWNT Holiday video came out, so I had to include the adorable gifs :) Anyway, to all of my followers: whether it’s a Happy Hanukkah, a Merry Christmas, or a Happy Kwanzaa, I hope it’s a good one! I’m sure that we’ve gone through some tough stuff this year, so even if you’re not with your loved ones, or receiving a lot of presents, try to enjoy your holiday as much as you can, because you deserve it. Life can be cruel and unfair, but during these next few days, I wish all of you the utmost sense of strength, happiness, comfort and optimism. If I could, I would personally give each and every one of you a gift, but since I can’t, I hope this will do! So, once again, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :) :)
Just for the record, Alex’s makeup doesn’t make her any less of a player, and it doesn’t negate any of her achievements. Stop shaming others for petty and irrelevant nonsense. Play your own game.
California Golden Bears 2010-11 Seniors
Congratulations to the Western New York Flash for finishing in first place for the 2011 WPS Regular Season! Next up is the playoffs, and as winners of the regular season, the Flash earned the right to host the winner of the semifinals on August 27 at their own Sahlen’s Stadium in the championship final.
It was Alex’s first season with the Flash and she accomplished a number of things. She finished the season with 4 goals and 3 assists in 13 matches, leading the Flash at #3 for assists. Despite being away for the Women’s World Cup, Alex also earned a nomination for WPS Rookie of the Year, and is known as one of “the big three” for the Flash, along with Marta and Christine Sinclair. Though she didn’t spend the 2011 season as a regular starter, Alex has shown that she is a vital member of her team, and a powerful offensive force. This is only the beginning for her, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll do in the championship final and next season :) Congrats again to Flash and Alex!
And that’s the game! The Flash came to be victorious with a 4-1 win over Sky Blue FC. WNY Flash goals were scored by McCall Zerboni (28’), Marta (35’), Christine Sinclair (37’), and Alex Morgan (92’).
